A TIME saving of around 40% is claimed by Integra Biosciences for the new Turbo operational mode of its Mediajet automatic petri dish filler. Able to cope with up to 1100 petri dishes per hour, the Mediajet is also able to fill deep dishes and dispense high media volumes.
With a maximum media volume of 60ml per dish, the Mediajet Turbo could be a major boost to laboratory productivity. Owners of the existing Mediajet model can upgrade their machines by purchasing a Turbo mode kit and updating the firmware to version 02.10.
Integra says that the automatic filling of petri dishes and other labware can reduce operational costs in the lab and also reduce material costs, through the more efficient spreading of culture media. Up to 30% savings over traditional systems might be expected, it says.
