Trinocular microscopes now have LED lighting

A NEW model in the Magnum range of trinocular microscopes from Medline Scientific uses an LED light source instead of the conventional HBO lamp.

LED illumination boosts Medline Magnum trinocular microscope range

Suited to use for epi-fluorescence studies, the Magnum EF LED offers instant power-on and power-off, needing no cooling period between viewing sessions. Another advantage of LED illumination is the greatly extended lamp life, increased by a factor of 100 from about 300 hours to 30,000 hours.

The microscope is designed with ergonomics in mind, with comfortable bench height focussing, bench height stage controls, and Koehler illumination. It includes as standard a five-position objective turret and comes complete with four objectives (4x, 10x, 40x, and 100x oil immersion). This leaves the fifth position free for an additional objective if required.

The Magnum EF LED is supplied with blue, green, UV, and V filter blocks for examination of the regular fluorescence markers (FITSC, TRITC, DAP and others); the fifth position can be utilised for standard brightfield viewing.
