WE’RE just back from our visit to the Scientific Laboratory Show, and found that this smaller event on the laboratory exhibition circuit is every bit as appealing as the giant trade fairs found overseas.
Held every two years at the East Midlands Conference Centre, on the campus of the University of Nottingham, this event is organised by lab equipment distributor Scientific Laboratory Supplies, which is based near the city.
This year’s show attracted 57 exhibitors who used their table-top displays to show a wide range of instruments and laboratory disposables.
A parallel series of seminars attracted a good range of speakers, but the session we attended (on the remediation of the Olympics site in east London) was sparsely attended.
Shows like this one and the annual Fisher Science World may lack the sheer impact of the big international exhibitions like Analytica, Achema, and Pittcon, but we like the human scale and more relaxed atmosphere they create.
