COLE-Parmer offers peristaltic pumps tubing for many laboratory and life science applications. For use with the company’s Masterflex pumps, C-Flex Ultra tubing promises clean delivery, long life, and high reproducibility.
The tubing is weldable and heat-sealable for applications demanding a sterile environment, including pharmaceutical and bioprocess applications, and complies with USP Class VI, FDA, and USDA requirements.
For biotech applications, the company’s PharMed BPT tubing is suggested. This tubing is non-toxic and non-haemolytic, and has extremely low permeability, says Cole-Parmer. Resistant to acid, alkali, oxidisers, and animal and vegetable oil, it is widely used in cell and tissue culture applications, the manufacture of medical products, and fermentation and purification operations.
Its opaque beige colour makes the tubing suitable for use when pumping light-sensitive fluids, and the material is said to have much lower gas and vapour permeability than silicon tubing.
PharMed BPT is suitable for clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP) systems, is autoclavable, and alternatively can be sterilised by ethylene oxide or gamma irradiation. Manufactured to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements, it 21 CFR compliant and meets USP Class VI, European Pharmacopoeia, and NSF (Standard 51) requirements.
