PROMISING the highest sensitivity on a portable thermal imaging camera for scientific research and development, Flir Systems says its SC650 and SC450 camera packs offer ‘no-compromise’ flexibility.
With its uncooled vanadium oxide (VoX) microbolometer detector, the Flir SC650 generates 640×480 pixel images displaying temperature differences as small as 0.03C, and can measure temperatures from -40C up to +2000C.
The alternative SC450 delivers smaller 320×240 pixel images with a temperature resolution of 0.04C and a working temperature range from -20C to +1500C.
Flir says both are ergonomically designed, extremely easy-to-use, and include a high quality LCD touchscreen allowing users to see the smallest details and temperature differences.
The company claims industry-first features on these thermal imaging cameras, including instant on-camera reporting, touchscreen image sketching, and Multi Spectral Dynamic Imaging (MSX) – a novel features that produces rich detail to enable thermal anomalies to be more easily detected and analysed.
Some models also include continuous auto-focus, 16-bit streaming IR video, picture-in-picture viewing, and a WiFi compatibility.
