EACH year, Jala, the journal of laboratory automation, seeks the top 10 technological breakthroughs in the field in order to recognise their contribution.
The Jala Ten embraces laboratory automation and robotics as well as a broad range of related technologies, including diagnostics, drug discovery and screening, delivery technologies, nanotechnology, and other developments relevant to biology and medicine.
Nominations are now being sought for the 2013 Jala Ten. These can be made by members and non-members of the Society of Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS), and self-nominations are welcome.
A selection committee will judge the entries based on the impact of the new technology on the general fields of biology and medicine.
The closing date for nominations is 22 September 2012; these should be submitted by email to nhallock@slas.org and include a short description (100 words), a longer report (500 words), and a citation in a peer-reviewed publication.
