A NEW arrangement with Agilent Technologies sees Analytik become the sole reseller of Agilent’s portable FTIR spectrometers in the UK and Ireland.
Analytik says it will use its position as a specialist in portable spectroscopy to drive applications of the three-instrument range in new out-of-lab applications including the chemical and petrochemical industries, geoscience, forensic investigation, and art conservation.
These handheld and portable Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) instruments are said to offer analytical performance comparable to benchtop devices. The range includes the 4100 and 4200 ExoScan handheld FTIR spectrometers and the 4500 series portable instrument, itself available in three versions.
“Agilent’s FTIR products are a great fit for us” commented Tom Greenwell, marketing manager at Analytik. “We already supply portable near-infrared (NIR) and Raman systems to the UK and Ireland, and now look forward to delivering the three core molecular spectroscopy techniques – NIR, Raman and FTIR – as portable instruments”.
“Analytik’s knowledge of the mobile measurement market, especially in portable technologies, helps extend the reach of Agilent’s products to allow customers the ability to perform their analyses directly at the point of sample”, added David Coe, senior director at Agilent Technologies.
