COMBINING the highest optical performance with intelligent software enables the new Mastersizer 3000 to bring expert measurement and analysis capabilities to experienced and novice users alike, says Malvern Instruments.
This laser diffraction particle size analyser measures particles from 10nm to 3500 microns, providing R+D scientists with the flexibility and responsiveness they needed for product and process development.
Mastersizer 3000 will analyse powders, emulsions, slurries, and suspensions, with a range of accessories to facilitate switching between wet and dry measurement. For wet samples, Malvern says its Hydro accessories promise bias-free sampling and the use of an array of dispersants, extending measurement to the widest range of sample types. For dry powders, the Aero dispersion unit handles robust or abrasive materials such as cement, or more fragile materials such as pharmaceutical and food ingredients.
The Mastersizer 3000 aids the development of new methods for any type of sample, says the company, thanks to its real-time feedback during and embedded expert guidance. During measurements, continuous quality assessment verifies that every analysis has been properly carried out, in order to maintain data integrity.
