THE FIRST Elisa kit to exploit Stellar Biotechnologies’s Keyhole Limpet Hemocyanin (KLH) protiens is now available.
This research-use-only (RUO) enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (Elisa) is available in six different kits to kits to measure either immunoglobulin G (IgG) or immunoglobulin M (IgM) antibodies in a range of preclinical models.
Use of Stellar’sproprietary KLH protein in the Stellar KLH Elisa is said to provide benefits in quantitative measurements, giving a wide dynamic range, low assay background, and reproducible linearity.
KLH protein can be used in pharmaceutical research to determine a candidate molecule’s effects on the immune system, which is particularly relevant to new classes of immune modulating drugs. KLH can be used to assess both humoral and cellular immune responses, says Stellar.
“The quality of the KLH can affect the test results of any anti-KLH Elisa”, said Frank Oakes, CEO of Stellar Biotechnologies. “Our goal was to apply Stellar KLH to improve the predictive value of pharmaceutical immunotoxicology testing using higher quality, standardised not previously available to researchers”.
