Widest mouth of any autosampler vial

THE VASE-like neck of JG Finneran’s Versa Vial has a 9mm opening, which the company says is the largest for any autosampler vial.

VersaVial from Finneran claims the widest mouth of any autosampler glassware

This design makes it easier to add samples to vials by pipette, and safer to empty. The arrangement also eliminates common problems associated with crimping and decapping, such as cracked necks and sharp edges from aluminum seals, it says.

The elongated neck allows for variations in the robotic arm settings, meaning that these vials can be used with most autosamplers including Agilent, CTC, Finnegan, PerkinElmer, Varian, and Waters Alliance.

Measuring 12x32mm, Versa Vial is available in clear or amber Type I borosilicate glass, or inpolypropylene for ion chromatography applications.

Vials can be sealed with a 12mm polyethylene plug, a PTFE/silicone plug, or a chlorobutyl/siliconised plug. The polyethylene plug has a conical starburst design that eases autosampler needle penetration, and an extended tab to simplify plug insertion and removal. The softer PTFE/silicone and chlorobutyl/siliconised plugs press-fit securely into the neck opening and can be autoclaved.
